Definition of a Construction Joint

A joint between stages of construction not intended to accommodate movement and should not be confused with a contraction joint.

A concrete construction joint is formed when the laying of concrete is interrupted for some reason such as the end of days work. Construction joints can be laid horizontally or vertically.
